Mother dearest, you are superwoman

i love my mom. She is the best. today is her bday i thought i should talk about her because even though i tell her i love her everyday, i don't give her the credit she deserves (as many mothers i'm sure). My mom is really special because of countless reasons but mainly because she has such a big heart. She has gone through a lot making her the toughest lady there is. She's funny, strong, smart, pretty, imaginative, extreeeeemely creative and talented, has an eye for detail and loves animals.
she has always encouraged me with no matter what i decided to do. From endless soccer tournaments, ballet classes, gymnastics competitions (ugh hated!), piano lessons, snowboarding, tae kwon do and karate, school plays, fashion shows, auditions... she's always been there encouraging me each step of the way with that oh so comforting smile on her face.
You can't help but fall in love with her because of her enormous warm heart. Her smell is soft like powder, linen, flowers and berries... i dont really know how to describe her smell as it is a mixture of her 10000 creams, lotions, bath oils, etc. that she wears, but it works. Her skin is like silk and warm milk. Her hair: pin straight and wont curl for any one! Her feet are like ballerina shoes as the arch in her foot is incredibly rounded!
Her hands have the grip of death lol! She can crack a walnut with her them...so rough yet so soft and weirdly enough - ALWAYS hot...it kind of freaks me out. She's always warms me up when going up the chairlift at our ski resort, her hands get so hot, they fume in the cold!
She can do anything with those insane hands... they're magic! she's the #1 cook- i can't eat other people's home cooked meal without thinking to myself "my mom would kill this shit!"... secondly: her hands are magical because she give the best back rubs perfect for those days when you need to cry your eyes out and just need someone to hold you -or- when you have fever and everything you touch gives you chills but those warm hands. But of course her hands are magic because of what she creates with them. the whole house is decorated with art that she has made. We have a late 1800's early 1900's house (i'm the 5th generation of my family living here), so the house is built with very thick and steardy wood, so you have that cottage/vintage feel. she's furnished the house with a lot of pieces that she refurbished. My favorite has to be our bath tud> it is a clawfoot tub painted in aquamarin turquoise that we repaint, with appliqué fish and coral that we also painted together. really sick and super spacious for those needed bath soaks. i'll eventually post some pics of my house bc i'm sure you can imagine it's uniqueness, it's unlike any other i've visited, it's home for me so i love it. She also helped me paint my ceiling violet knowing it would make my ceiling look shorter than it already is ( 6"1/2' high...my room's the attic)...the paintings of the galaxy in my computer room, and that freaky skull head my brother thought would be a really cool idea...his room used the be adjascent to mine until he was about 14 then i took over the whole top floor thank you very much... muahaha!
i can always count on her for honest advise. I love it when i come home with more shopping bags and show her what i've bought, she always tells me how when she was my age she had an outfit just like it! i especially adore when she comes into my room and puts on my shoes, hikes up her pant led, flexes her calf and says "yup yup i would wear these" or "a little high but i love 'em". If i'm feeling a little uninspired by my wardrobe, she's the best to tell me what i sould wear with that skirt...i mean she doesnt the laundry so she knows my wardobe as much as myself!
My momma...the most special and fragile person to my heart. She's the coolest and wouldn't want to trade her for anyone else's mom. She's a hippie and love her for it...i'm grateful to have inherited her most amazing qualities and hope some day to be a great mom as she is!... all the stupidities i've done and money i've made her spend on shopping and who knows what else... she still loves me and wants me around! Love yah. Peace Miss Moonglow <3 and happy bday!!!
